Delivering impact insurance

The ILO’s impact insurance Facility collaborates with AXA’s Emerging Customers team to design and deliver impact insurance innovation to benefit low-income workers, especially women and migrants, in a selected country in Asia. The key output of this collaboration are critical insights into the design and delivery of insurance products for excluded populations, especially women and migrants, which will be widely shared with the insurance and development communities. To achieve this result, the ILO and AXA will test relevant insurance products in a specific country and publically share the resulting lessons and experiences. The ILO supports this effort through engagement of its Impact Insurance Facility, and place an insurance Fellow with one AXA country office to support project management and implementation of the designed solution. The Facility also promotes peer learning and capacity building of other providers within the AXA network in order to promote the application of lessons learnt on this project in other countries. The collaboration between the ILO's Impact Insurance Facility and AXA is basd on the believef that the private sector should play an important role to drive the change needed to protect millions of low-income households. AXA is a like-minded organization focused on providing quality solutions to the excluded populations, especially women and migrants. As an advocate of social change, the Facility acts as a champion of the insurance industry, building trust among consumers and governments in the potential of the insurance industry to help achieve household and broader market objectives concerning risk management, resilience, and economic development.
