Strengthening the capacity of the Labour Administration (notably the State Labour Service) to Improve Working Conditions and Tackle Undeclared Work - Ukraine
The project “Enhancing the labour administration capacity to improve working conditions and tackle undeclared work” is implemented in the framework of the European Union (EU)-Ukraine Association Agreement (AA), which focuses on supporting core reforms, notably employment policy, labour market reforms, and social development and protection. On the one hand, the project will work in close collaboration with law makers and social partners in support of their efforts to align Ukrainian OSH and labour legislation with a number of EU Directives and ILO Conventions. Also, the project will seek to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Social Policy and the State Labour Service (SLS) to better implement its mandate in the field of labour inspection with a special focus on the fight against undeclared work. To do so, the project will i) support the modernization of the Information Management System used by SLS staff to increase its reporting ability, ii) support the Ministry of Social Policy and SLS in the development and implementation of a multiannual strategy to fight against undeclared work, and iii) train SLS staff to ensure that they are able to enforce their mandate efficiently.
