Partnerships for Youth Employment in the CIS II

This project aims to improve the effectiveness of policies and programmes promoting decent jobs for young people in the CIS countries through interventions at the regional, national and sub-national levels, as follows: -The regional (CIS) component constitutes the project’s backbone; it will develop further joint approaches to address youth employment issues common to the CIS countries and enhance the existing mechanisms for regional cooperation on youth employment. -The national component will target Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan to strengthen the implementation of country-specific youth employment policies and programmes. -The sub-national component will focus on youth employment actions in three regions of the Russian Federation (Republic of Komi, Astrakhan Region and Kaliningrad Region) to foster a framework for cooperation and partnership among local institutions, the social partners and other stakeholders at the sub-national level. The project builds on the successful outcome of a previous collaboration between the ILO and the Russian oil company LUKOIL during the 2013-2017 period.
