Technical Support on Decent Employment

This project is part of the ILO Flagship Programme on Jobs for Peace and Resilience and is based on the Employment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilience Recommendation, 2017 (No. 205). It builds on consultations with the ILO tripartite constituents and on the results of a joint research effort involving the ILO, UNDP, the World Bank and the United Nation’s Peacebuilding Support Office on “Employment Programmes and Peace” (September 2016). The project will be developed at the national level, promoting policy reform and building institutional capacities, and at the local level through pilot projects in urban and rural areas. The ILO will: i) provide support to increase the skills and employability of men and women in vulnerable situations through better employment services and vocational training; ii) strengthen entrepreneurship and the provision of financial and non-financial services to small enterprises and cooperatives; and iii) integrate employment-intensive investment approaches in public works, especially for rural roads and infrastructures.
