Piloting National Apprenticeship Programme in Indonesia

Based on the request of the Government of Indonesia, the Project will review the current National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) through a tripartite dialogue and mechanism, draft a proposed model of NAP, and pilot test the NAP for possible replication by the Government of Indonesia. The result of the pilot will also be used as an evidence to review the existing Apprenticeship regulation No.36/ 2016. Three rounds of consultations have been conducted with Government, Employers and Workers group in May, August and September 2017 to review the current apprenticeship model, gathering input, expectations and challenges. Field visit to meet the training providers and apprentices have also been conducted in order to draft a model that meet the needs, expectations and interest of all stakeholders. The Development Objective of the Project is to improve the employment outcome of skills training through quality apprenticeship model.
