VNM128 - Capacity of government and the social partners to develop and implement employment policies and programmes that are well suited to Viet Nam’s dynamic employment environment and favourable to decent work strengthened Linked to SDG 8 This project aims at scaling up ongoing efforts to strengthen constituents’ engagement and influence in SDG-related processes towards making significant progress in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and its related targets. It builds upon on ongoing work to strengthen constituents’ participation in integrating the Decent Work Agenda into employment policies of Viet Nam and facilitating their engagement and influence in SDG-related processes. The project will further reinforce the role of employment promotion and labour market issues at the core of policy making. In line with the Government’s Roadmap, this objective will be pursued by providing policy and technical advisory services to constituents with regard to: the production of the Viet Nam SDG-related indicators for which ILO is custodian; improvements in the labour market information system in order to develop evidence-based decent work policies towards the “No one left behind” agenda; and the implementation of the National Action Plan of the 2030 Agenda through regular monitoring of selected SDG 8 related targets and other relevant SDG indicators. This project contributes to the country’s efforts to advance towards the attainment of SDG target 8.3 (Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services).
