Promoting Financial Literacy among Vulnerable Populations in Egypt
The proposed project will work jointly with several partners in order to train and certify at least 10 trainers in Egypt to use the ILO’s Financial Education tools and proceed with a national rollout of the training. This intervention builds on the successful results of the project ¨Improving the Governance of Labour Migration and the Protection of Migrant Workers´ Rights in Tunisia, Morocco, Libya and Egypt¨ (IRAM for short), through the adaptation of materials adapted for use in Tunisia and Morocco to the Egyptian context. Building on this experience, and in line with the importance given to financial education in the Action Plan on Institutional Strengthening in the Area of Labour Migration, another important IRAM output in Egypt, ILO is planning the certification process for use with migrants, potential migrants, returnees, and other vulnerable groups such as refugees.
