Se refuerza el sistema de administracion y la inspeccion de trabajo para promover el cumplimento de las normas en el lugar de trabajo

This project aims at strengthening workplace compliance with international labour standards, national labour laws and applicable regulations. Interventions will focus on promoting compliance with occupational safety and health standards, strengthening labour inspectorate’s capacities and fostering social dialogue to achieve decent work and address inequalities. The project covers the following five areas of work: (1) occupational safety and health, including actions to improve data collection, expand the coverage of occupational safety and health management systems in SMEs, and improve the legal framework through the ratification of the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Convention, 2006 (No. 187); (2) strengthening the labour inspection’s capacity to achieve labour law compliance in rural areas, in line with the Governments’ commitment reflected in the 2016 Peace Agreement; (3) increasing the knowledge base on informal economy by identifying the most affected sectors and regions as well as barriers to formalization; (4) building the capacity of workers’ organizations to contribute to workplace compliance and to the promotion of collective bargaining; and (5) strengthening tripartite social dialogue institutions to enhance their influence on the design and implementation of public policies to promote decent work at national level. This project contributes to the country’s efforts to advance towards the attainment of SDG target 8.8 (Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, and those in precarious employment), including the Voluntary National Review report that Colombia will present to the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in 2018.
