SKILL-UP GHANA (Upgrading Skills for the changing world of work
The project will support capacity strengthening at national level to assist stakeholders in establishing a national framework for Sectoral Skills Councils (SSCs). These sector-level institutional structures of skills governance are based on partnerships among the Government, private sectors and other stakeholders. They represent a mechanism for continuous and organized cooperation to support skills governance and policies that enable a more effective connection between education and training and the labour market. The composition of their members and functions vary from country to country but their most important role is to liaise with the main actors from specific economic sectors to identify and anticipate sectors’ current and future skills needs, and to address these skills needs. In this role, SSCs promote a better alignment between the training supply and the market needs
