Actuarial Technical Assistance for Health Cover in Pakistan

This five month partnership betweem the ILO’s impact insurance Facility (the Facility) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, through its bilateral project “Support toSocial Protection incl. Social Health Protection (SP-SHP)”, provides actuarial technical assistance and the identification of opportunities to build health actuarial capacity within Pakistan. This project promotes peer learning and capacity building through the Facility’s wider community of practitioners in order to share lessons learnt on this in close consultation and cooperation with GIZ in the country of assignment (Pakistan) as well as through other forms and mechanisms of learning and exchange. Lessons address processes, namely providing best practice guidelines for others approaching similar actuarial tasks in a developing context where data may not be available or insufficient.
