Partnership with Insurance for Rural Resilience & Economic Development (INSURED)
This threee year partnership with IFAD contributes towards the overall joint goal to increase resilience, the capacity to manage risks, and improve livelihoods of poor rural households who depend on agriculture and/or off-farm income generating activities. Activities are clustered into three core components: 1. Climate insurance policy and strategy: Country assessments; policy recommendations and support; technical assistance to country programme design and implementation; regional portfolio review; IFAD strategy for scaling-up climate insurance; 2. Implementation of climate insurance: Feasibility studies; climate insurance product/scheme design; implementation of climate insurance products/schemes; scheme assessment and planning; 3. Capacity building and knowledge management: Share knowledge and best practice for public good; deliver and participate in knowledge sharing and learning events; tailor-made in-person training for specific groups; guidance frameworks for IFAD programmes.
