More productive and competitive SMEs and MNEs contribute to and provide sustainable and decent employment, and a just transition to environmental sustainability
Under the Sida-ILO partnership agreement in 2016-17, a national dialogue on decent work and just transition to an environmentally sustainable economy and society for all was organized in partnership with Ghana Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and the Environmental Protection Agency. The dialogue helped to bring together the national government and social partners leading to an identification of priorities, which focus on evaluation of the impacts of environment-related policies, particularly the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) on jobs and the labour market, and support towards greater coherence between relevant environment and labour market policies. The priorities identified in the dialogue have provided the basis for the development of the objectives and outputs on the Just Transition under this country programme outcome.
