Strengthening of national initiatives and enhancement of regional Cooperation for the environmentally sound management of POPs in Waste of Electronic or Electrical Equipment (WEEE) in Latin-American countries

The overall objective of the project is to mobilize governements, employers' and workers' organizations and other private sector and academia to better manage electronic waste and promote decent work in the sector in Latin America, starting with Argentina and Peru. The project will pay particular attention to women and youth formal and informal workers in this sector. The project willl contribute to the UNIDO Regional Programme on "Strengthening of national initiatives and enhancement of regional cooperation for the environmentally sound management of Persistant Organic Pollulants (POPs) in Waste of Electronic and Electrical Equipment in Latin American Countries," funded by the Global Environment Facility Trust Fund (GEF).
