Strengthened capacity of member states to ratify and apply international labour standards and to fulfil reporting obligations
The project aims at assisting the Government and the social partners in Kyrgyzstan in developing their capacity to ratify and implement international labour standards. Based on a comprehensive legislative review undertaken in 2017-2018, support is provided to the ILO’s tripartite constituents in implementing the recommendations of the review by i) assisting the Government, the social partners and other relevant stakeholders in the development and implementation of a tripartite work plan on labour law reform, and ii) developing the capacity of the Ministry of Labour and of the social partners to implement the work plan, and of workers’ and employers’ organizations to promote and defend the interests of their respective members. This project contributes to the country’s efforts to advance towards the attainment of SDG target 8.7 (Take immediate and effective measures to eradicate forced labour, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour, including recruitment and use of child soldiers, and by 2025 end child labour in all its forms), target 8.8 (Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment), as well as target 16.3 (Promote the rule of law at the national and international levels and ensure equal access to justice for all).
