Desarrollo regional productivo, sostenible y con mejores condiciones de seguridad y salud en el trabajo en la mineria y manufactura de Bolivia
This project aims at promoting productive and sustainable development, and better occupational safety and health (OSH) conditions in Bolivia, particularly in the regions of Cochabamba and Potosi, with special attention to challenges and opportunities for women, among other target groups. The intervention strategy focuses on increasing the level of productivity, innovation and OSH in the mining and industrial manufacturing sectors of Potosi and Cochabamba and on strengthening the capacity of the ILO constituents at national level, in particular employers’ and workers’ organizations, to advocate for improved legislation on OSH and for productive development, including for greener production. It is implemented with the close involvement of Government institutions – in particular, the Ministries of Productive Development and of Labour, respectively –, the Bolivian Private Employers' Confederation, the Bolivian Workers' Confederation, and the local affiliates of both Confederations. This project contributes to the country’s efforts to advance towards the attainment of SDG target 8.2 (Achieve higher levels of economic productivity through diversification, technological upgrading and innovation, including through a focus on high-value added and labour-intensive sectors); target 8.3 (Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services), and target 9.2 (Promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and, by 2030, significantly raise industry’s share of employment and gross domestic product, in line with national circumstances, and double its share in least developed countries).
