Supporting Skills Partnerships on Migration in Sub-Saharan Africa

The ILO is engaging in a Global Skills Partnership on Migration to promote skills partnerships between organizations of employers and workers, training institutions, public employment services, national statistical institutes and other relevant actors in national skills systems between countries of origin and countries of destination. To ensure the context sensitive design and genuine grounding of the Global Skills Partnership at the country, corridor and regional level, the ILO will conduct three regional technical workshops under the umbrella of its existing SKILL-UP project. In the workshops, which are to be conducted in three Sub-Saharan African regions, namely Western Africa, Central Africa and Sahel in 2019, constituents will identify, define and plan for the implementation of tailored interventions to foster skills partnerships. Sub-regional and country-level mapping studies will inform the tripartite workshops.
