UNCT SDG Integrated Solutions Platforms: VET - industry collaboration

The project will document good practices of VET-industry partnership and disseminate them. In addition, the project intends to take two-step strategy and generate impact in the long run while concentrating its activities in the short run. In the short run, key stakeholders understand the importance of VET-industry partnership and employers’ organizations support the partnership model in VET. In the long run, the Ministry of Manpower, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs revisit the skills development policies and regulations to the favour of deeper VET-industry partnership. By promoting VET-industry partnership, the government will be able to save VET cost in industrial zones where such collaboration is feasible and re-allocate freed resources to improve VET in rural areas or make strategic investment in digitalizing VET.
