El païs, con apoyo de la OIT, desarrolla estrategias y programas de generacion de empleo productivo y trabajo decente y la mejora de las competencias profesionales, a través del fortacimiento institucionaly el diàlogo tripartito

This RBSA-funded intervention aims at generating productive employment and promoting decent work for youth in Haiti. Tripartite partners are capacitated to design, through dialogue, a national action plan for youth employment, and competent national institutions are supported to develop a vocational training programme and a pilot programme to generate green jobs for youth in Port-au-Prince. The intervention strategy is guided by the Transition from the Informal to the Formal Economy Recommendation, 2015 (No. 204), the Employment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilience Recommendation, 2017 (No. 205), the Employment Policy Convention, 1964 (No. 122), and the Resolution “The youth employment crisis: A call for action” adopted by the International Labour Conference in 2012. This intervention contributes to the country’s efforts to attain the following SDG targets: 1.5 (By 2030, build the resilience of the poor and those in vulnerable situations and reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate-related extreme events and other economic, social and environmental shocks and disasters); 8.3 (Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services); 8.6 (By 2020, substantially reduce the proportion of youth not in employment, education or training); 8.8 (Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment); and 8.b (By 2020, develop and operationalize a global strategy for youth employment and implement the Global Jobs Pact of the ILO).
