Promoción de la integración en el mercado de los migrantes y refugiados Venezolanos en los paises latinamericanos y caribenos mediante el trabajo decente y el crecimiento economico inclusivo con equidad
This RBSA-funded intervention is part of a coordinated response of the UN system to the Venezuela migration crisis. It aims at promoting the labour inclusion of Venezuelan migrants in Ecuador and Peru, as well as at the regional level, applying the principles of the Migration for Employment Convention (Revised), 1949 (No. 97) and the Migrant Workers (Supplementary Provisions) Convention, 1975 (No. 143). In both target countries, the intervention strategy focuses on promoting the migrants’ employability and sustainable entrepreneurship, and the inclusion of migrants’ rights in social dialogue processes. In addition, in Ecuador, the labour inspection system is strengthened to extend its services to areas with a significant presence of migrants. At the regional level, the intervention is geared towards integrating labour perspectives in the crisis response plans of relevant regional entities, while supporting the member countries to conclude bilateral agreements that guarantee decent working conditions for migrant workers. This intervention contributes to the countries’ efforts to advance towards the attainment of SDG target 5.2 (Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation), target 8.3 (Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services) and target 10.7 (Facilitate orderly, safe, regular and responsible migration and mobility of people, including through the implementation of planned and well-managed migration policies).
