Institutional Strengthening for Promoting compliance with National Legislation in Colombia

This proposal complements the technical assistance that is being developed by the ILO in Colombia to promote decent work. It does to by emphasizing the promotion of workplace compliance and strengthening the capacities of employers’ organizations and workers’ organizations to participate in the tripartite social dialogue, bargain collectively and develop the industrial relations system. It also follows-up on the implementation of the Labour Action Plan signed between the Ministries of Labour of Canada and Colombia in 2018. With the active participation of ILO’s constituents in Colombia, this project improves the registry system of collective pacts, collective agreements and union contracts of the Ministry of Labour. While it supports the analysis of working conditions established in the union contracts and collective pacts, it also establishes conditions and effects of the use of each of the vehicles at the workplace, as well as proposes recommendations for actions or public policy to reinforce compliance with existing labour standards in the country.
