Digitalisation, the future of work and the teaching profession

This project aims to develop the knowledge of governments, employers’ and workers’ representatives, and other education stakeholders on both challenges and opportunities related to new technologies, future skills needs in the education sector and strategies for designing and implementing effective policies or guidelines. The project will also support the enhancement of working conditions for teachers through new digitalisation strategies and effective social dialogue. With some countries in East Africa currently developing their Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCPs), where education systems are placed centrally to developing demand-driven, employability skills, the project will develop new knowledge that will work to inform these efforts, in particular by highlighting effective practices that foster skills for employability and entrepreneurship.
