Better Factories Cambodia Phase IV – Gender (USDOL)
With this gender funding from USDOL, BFC will build on and further increase and strengthen BFC’s gender work outcomes on female leadership and empowerment of women in the garment sector. The project will contribute to BFC’s strategy (phase IV) 2019-22: Sustainable improvements in working conditions and business competitiveness in garment factories accelerated by the end of 2022 - in particular Output 1.5: The formation of partnerships in support of sustained compliance facilitated, and Output 1.6: Gender equality embedded in all BFC work and staff capacity, and implemented in collaboration with partners. Output 1.2: Support provided to improve factories’ capacity for effective social dialogue and improved systems. will also be supported especially through BFC’s training programs focusing on women’s empowerment and supervisory skills especially for female supervisors and trade union leaders. The BFC project document and budget can be found in the attached USDOL grant modification number 21 (file “IL-21187 Mod 21”), p. 32-38 and 60-62 respectively.
