Delivering Impact Insurance
The ILO’s impact insurance Facility is collaborating with Habitat for Humanity to design and deliver impact insurance solutions, primarily related to property insurance. The solutions will benefit low-income households and MSMEs and will initially be piloted in Kenya. The key output of this collaboration will be critical insights into the design and delivery of property insurance products for excluded populations which will be widely share with the insurance and development communities. The ILO will support this effort through engagement of its Impact Insurance Facility, and place a Fellow with one practitioner to support project management and implementation of the designed solution. As an advocate of social change the Facility acts as a champion of the insurance industry, building trust among consumers and governments in the potential of the insurance industry to help achieve household and broader market objectives concerning risk management, resilience, and economic development.
