Improved public policies to promote the inclusion and formalization of vulnerable workersand to facilitate the implementation of sectoral OSH protocols against COVID-19

This initiative aims at supporting the review of the occupational safety and health (OSH) standards as part of the response to the COVID-19 crisis in Brazil. To this end, the strategy focuses on enhancing the capacities of the Federal and State Governments and of the employers’ and the workers’ organizations to engage in social dialogue regarding OSH protocols in selected sectors, with due regard to gender equality and non-discrimination dimensions. The expected end-results of the intervention include: i) improved sectoral tripartite social dialogue spaces at state level and OSH protocols against COVID-19 established or strengthened ; and ii) enhanced knowledge and technical capacity of constituents in relation to OSH legislation and relevant international labour standards, including OSH-related instruments with a sectoral focus or related to specific risks and preventive measures.
