Risk management and insurance education for SMEs

It has been observed that there is great potential to further increase SMEs access to better quality insurance, but oftentimes this is blocked by the companies’ lack of knowledge about this tool and about how it complements other risk management mechanisms and strategies. The goal of this project is, therefore, to raise SMEs awareness about the different risks to which they are exposed, including climate-related ones, and the different mechanisms available to them to manage these risks, being insurance one of the risk transfer options. The project envisages that SMEs who participate in the trainings organized as part of the project will be better equipped with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions on how to manage risks and how to use insurance as one of these options. At the end of the project, it is also expected a local partner from Morocco to take over the training activities as part of their own mandate.
