Recuperación socioeconómica a crisis COVID-19 desde perspectiva de género
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the differential impact of crises on women and vulnerable populations. It placed an additional burden on women as caregivers and deepened structural problems in achieving economic autonomy, such as indebtedness and lack of access to the financial system. The Project is an inter-agency initiative led by UN Women, in coordination with the Office of the Resident Coordinator. ILO, UNDP and ECLAC participate in this program and it is financed by the United Nations Secretary General's Fund for Response and Recovery to COVID-19. For its implementation, the program works in collaboration with various ministries and agencies. The objective is to increase the economic autonomy of women in Argentina through two main strategies. - To increase their participation in the labor market through: o a more equal distribution of domestic and unpaid care work; improvements in the working conditions of care workers, the elderly and people with disabilities. - Strengthen the financial inclusion and education of women that in turn promotes quality labor market insertion. The project is implemented through activities organized in the following two pillars: design and implementation of integral and inclusive care policies for the elderly and disabled; and strengthening of women's economic autonomy, with special emphasis on lower-income households. The project addresses the following target populations: women with care responsibilities; women belonging to the groups most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic; people with disabilities; elderly people; trainers from public institutions providing employability and labor market insertion services and/or care services, as well as the population benefiting from these trainings; and men. The project contributes to achieving the following results in Argentina: implementing comprehensive and inclusive care strategies to improve the distribution of care and to guarantee quality care for older people and people with disabilities; improving the working conditions of workers in the care of older people and people with disabilities. Improve access to the financial system for women from socioeconomic sectors most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through a mapping of solutions that contribute to the design and implementation of public policies at the national and subnational levels; promote formal labor insertion through different employment modalities, including entrepreneurship; and generate information, studies and policies to improve the situation of household indebtedness, particularly among women associated with the increase and diversification of care tasks in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic.
