Better Work Jordan Mental Health Project
The new fund of $1,550,000 will be used for a comprehensive intervention on mental wellbeing, with the overall project objective of improving workers’ mental wellbeing, especially among women and migrant workers, in the garment sector in Jordan. The cooperation agreement shall cover relevant activities for three years starting 1 January 2021. In the COVID-19 crisis, it is likely that garment workers experience additional stresses due to fear of retrenchment and being away from family for the migrant workers. Therefore, this intervention is even more needed in the post-COVID period. Better Work Jordan identifies two long-term outcomes (LTOs) to achieve the overall project objective. LTO 1: Workers become more resilient against mental health risks, including seeking psychosocial support; and LTO 2: Factories and the mental health referral system reach more workers needing psychosocial support.
