Make Your Business Resilient (MYBR): A Multi-hazard Business Continuity Training Programme for SMEs
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are the critical drivers of our economies. Yet, they are also the least prepared enterprises when faced with a hazard – up to 40% of small businesses never reopen after a disaster. To support SMEs to better prepare, mitigate and respond to the impact of hazards such as disasters, conflict, health crisis and others, the ILO proposes to create and pilot a multi-hazard business continuity training programme for SMEs - the Make Your Business Resilient (MYBR) programme. Underpinned by a solid project strategy and monitoring, evaluation and learning plan, MYBR will be piloted in selected countries and create a pool of certified trainers that will support at least 400 SMEs in their respective countries to implement Business Continuity Management measures. In addition, the ILO will work with social partners, governments and other stakeholders in the pilot countries to promote an enabling environment for business resilience. The overall duration of the project is 12 months.
