Capacity building on human trafficking in Uzbekistan
The project focuses on building the capacity of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, the Agency for External Migration and its branches, the call centers in Uzbekistan and abroad, the Labour Attaches and the Employment Support Centers to prevent human trafficking and support victims through better service delivery. It is implemented through the following two components: Component 1 – Building capacity to prevent human trafficking This component aims to develop the capacities of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, the Agency for External Migration and its branches, the call centers in Uzbekistan and abroad, the Labour Attaches and the Employment Support Centers to provide information services to potential migrants on safe migration channels, fair recruitment methods and risks of human trafficking, based on an assessment of profile of migrants. This component will also look into the functioning of the feedback mechanisms data collection and analysis to align it to the Trafficking in Persons report requirements and the Fund of Support to Labour Migrants under the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations. Component 2. Capacity building on how to identify, interview, and provide psychological support to victims of human trafficking and/or forced labour. This component targets the personnel of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, the Agency for External Migration and its branches, the call centers in Uzbekistan and abroad, the Labour Attaches and the Employment Support Centers. The activities will teach the specialists on how to interview potential victims of human trafficking, provide assistance and refer them for assistance. In addition, given the similarities, this component envisages trainings on interviewing techniques of victims of forced labour for labour inspectors and law enforcement bodies.
