Technical Cooperation Project for the State of Qatar – Phase 2
In 2018, the Government of the State of Qatar and the ILO entered into an agreement to deliver a comprehensive Technical Cooperation Project. Qatar’s labour reform agenda made substantial strides in the subsequent three years, in line with the objectives of the National Vision 2030. The progress and the remaining challenges have been recognized by the ILO Governing Body and the Committee of Experts. The first phase of the programme came to an end in June 2021. A new phase of cooperation (2021-2023) has been designed to consolidate and build on the achievements to date, and to expand into other priority areas identified by the Government and social partners. The four pillars of the programme include: (1) Labour market & labour migration governance are strengthened; (2) Enforcement of Labour Laws and Access to justice enhanced; (3) Workers’ Voice and Social Dialogue promoted; and (4) International cooperation and exchange of experience are enhanced.
