ILO support to Nationally Determined Contributions Just Transition in Antigua and Barbuda
This UN Agency to UN Agency Contribution Agreement is established to support Antigua and Barbuda in the realisation of its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) target to transition to a fossil-free nation in an equitable and inclusive manner, thereby, providing direct technical support to the country to ensure a just transition of its workforce. The project covers a number of activities that include conducting a socio-economic impact assessment on the NDC targets and measures, specifically relating to the energy transition and the just transition of women in the workforce; drafting a policy paper on a gender responsive approach to the just transition of the workforce; conducting an assessment of communications needs and priorities to improve awareness about the Just Transition activities in the country with a specific focus on the world of work actors; establish a Gender sensitive public awareness campaign proposal developed on the just transitioning; and foster social dialogue with trade unions, employers’ associations and with government representatives on the transition to a climate-resilient and low-carbon economy.
