Extend national social protection systems in response to the COVID-19 crisis in Bangladesh
Executive Summary for IRIS The purpose of proposed interventions are to facilitate the tripartite constituents contribution in developing right based, sustainable, contributory and inclusive social protection schemes for better protection of the workers and the industry. Overall objective is to facilitate the gradual extension of social protection in Bangladesh through advocacy on social insurance schemes and capacity development of constituents which will lead to the implementation of long term measures. The project intends to achieve the output of National dialogue for the Inter-Agency Social Protection Assessments (ISPA) review initiated in Bangladesh; concept of the ILO R.202 Social Protection Floors introduced and exploratory assessments undertaken with other Development Partners, by mid-2022. The focus will be on advocacy, coordination and capacity development of disability inclusion.
