Strengthening government initiatives to generate employment and strengthen production chains for small-scale producers (White Seal).
The ILO, in coordination with the WFP and UNFPA, will support the design and implementation of the Government's White Seal initiative based on the best international practices for generating employment and strengthening value chains, International Labour Standards and considering the relevant national legislation and circumstances, supporting interaction with government authorities and the organized private sector. According to the project sheet prepared by MINECO, the objective of the White Seal project is: "To position products from small producers that have quality and are marketed in local and international markets, guaranteeing their origin and production, through communication and awareness strategies to generate responsible consumption for the purchase of Guatemalan products". The main objective of the United Nations agencies participating in this proposal will be to support the construction process and the model of the White Seal Program and will participate in the pursuit of the objective set by the Government.
