Preventing and Addressing Labor Violations in the Fishing Sector in Peru and Ecuador

The project-level objective is to strengthen decent work in the fishing sector in South America, focusing most activities in the two countries that have the biggest fishing sectors in the region, Peru and Ecuador, but with an influence in other countries in South America (Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay) who participate in international dialogue events and regional cooperation initiatives regarding the fight against IUU and labor inspection of foreign vessels arriving to South American ports. Workers in the fishing sector, and especially artisanal fishers, women, and people of African descent access information on their rights at the workplace and will be empowered to exert their rights
