Decent Work for Women in Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco Phase III
Over a period of three years, including an inception phase of six months (Q1 and Q2 2022), and building on the results achieved during phase II of the project and the ILO Cairo Office’s overall Gender Portfolio, the project works to achieve its Development Objective: ‘Simultaneously enhance women labour force participation and contribution to greening the economy through job creation and entrepreneurship development in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.’ The project acknowledges that climate action incorporates adaptation and mitigation actions and will focus on activities that systematically enhance climate resilience, low emission development and environmental sustainability or at least apply the “do no harm principle.[1]” Along these lines, all project outputs shall systematically consider both climate and the environment. This is achieved via the three interconnected Outcomes: 1) Capacity of government and social partners in Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco to promote green and inclusive growth and employment creation strengthened. 2) Ability of women-led informal businesses to develop green income-generating activities is improved.
