Climate Risk Adaptation and Insurance in the Caribbean – Transition Phase

Project title: Climate Risk Adaptation and Insurance in the Caribbean – Transition phase The project builds on the work done in the earlier phase in Jamaica and Saint Lucia to support the development of inclusive insurance in the Caribbean. It will help develop the understanding of insurance as a tool against interruption in business and protect livelihoods against the risk of adverse weather conditions. The focus countries for the project are Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada and Belize For this project, ILO, MCII and CCRIF SPC will work together to - Assist with capacity building of insurance companies to carry out parametric insurance programmes - Assist with capacity building of distribution channels to work effectively with insurance company in creating better outreach among target customers - Assist with knowledge management and knowledge sharing of success factors and opportunities for improvement
