Coordinating Support to DR just transition to a low greenhouse gas emissions economy
This is a small collaboration between UNDP and ILO to conduct a Rapid Situational Analysis for a Just Transition and an tripartite workshop. The purpose of this agreement is to support Dominican Republic in the transition to a low greenhouse gas emissions economy in an equitable and inclusive manner, thereby, providing direct technical support to the country to ensure a just transition of its workforce. Proposed activities: 1. Conduct a Rapid Situational Analysis for a Just Transition: This analysis will identify key opportunities to develop just transition priorities and instruments based on Dominican Republic specific context. It will use a methodology and analytical process to map linkages between the economy, decent work and the environment in the country and in specific sectors, and to identify potential entry points for policies and interventions. 2. Carry out a tripartite workshop to share outcomes: the ILO will promote a tripartite social dialogue workshop in collaboration with UNDP to present the RSA results with just transition related stakeholders. This workshop may serve to explore the political will of the government and other stakeholders to continue and deepen technical support to ensure a just transition.
