Young Futuremakers Thailand - Phase II
The International Labour Organization (ILO) requests a grant of USD 400,000 to deliver the second phase of the Young Futuremakers Thailand project. Building on the interventions, stakeholder engagement and lessons of the first phase (2021-22),the project will take an integrated approach in supporting disadvantaged youth in Thailand impacted by the COVID-19 crisis in the labour market through the provision of demand-led skills training and employment services. The project aims at: 1.) Improving employment-related knowledge, skills and labour market transitions of disadvantaged youth 2.) Strengthening institutional capacities to provide skills development and employment services Anchored in the UN Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth, the project takes a gender-responsive and inclusive approach and is expected to reach a total number of 1,200 young people between the ages of 15-29. The COVID-19 crisis has negatively impacted the labour market transitions of youth. The project will continue with the focus areas of the first phase, which consist of Bangkok and the provinces of Rayong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Nakhon Ratchasima. Additional focus areas (e.g., Songkhla and Yala) will be explored during the inception phase. Furthermore, the project will deliver activities in partnership with local implementing partners including the Ministry of Labour (MOL), Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), local administrations, Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT), workers’ organizations, local enterprises and communities.
