Combatting Child Labor in the DR Congo’s Cobalt Industry
The project-level objective is to strengthen efforts by the Congolese government and other relevant stakeholders to address child labor in the cobalt industry of the DRC.The Project takes as final objective that of initiating substantial and structural changes in policy and practice-based approaches to combating child labour in cobalt supply chains, in the DRC. After identifying a series of targeted outcomes related to policy, implementation and monitoring processes, programs, attitudes, knowledge, skills and capacity building, and, crucially, responsible markets and supply chains, the project will map each outcome onto a specific approach to change. This means that, rather than applying a ‘one size fits all’ approach, context specific considerations will inform tailored approaches.
