Skills Development for Increased Employability Programme (SDEP)
The European Union (EU) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) are implementing a EUR6.5 million-partnership agreement for a four-year Skills Development for Increased Employability Programme (SDEP) in Zambia. The EU funded project is contributing towards improving employability of labour force for both women and men. The project is focusing on the governance and management structures of Zambia’s Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) system and the upgrading and maintenance of training facilities and curriculum development. Private sector involvement to play an important role for the updating of the curricula and for the promotion of Work Based Learning (WBL) interventions. The project is at all levels, establishing a strong linkage with the EU Green Deal and the EU-Africa strategy that emphasises on increasing access to quality education, skills, research and enhance social rights The action is contributing towards supporting investments in human development, especially promoting the development of skills for the youth and vulnerable groups. The action is also addressing investment in Skills and TVET must address current, anticipate future needs of the job market, and attract investments. The project will be implemented from 1 February 2023 to 31 January 2027.
