Social Protection and Employment for Just Transition in Papua New Guinea

This Project aims to strengthen the social protection system in Papua New Guinea and its interactions with employment policy. The Project will undertake comprehensive diagnostics to inform the development of evidence-based nationally owned integrated social protection systems with employment policies through integrated programming in national and sub-national development. To achieve the objectives, the Project includes the following outcomes: 1. 1. Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the national social protection system and its interactions with employment policy. 2. 2. Strengthening the institutional capacity to support key relevant ministries and social partners mandated with the design and adoption of social protection measures and employment policies for just transition. 3. 3. Develop a project proposal for the development of national social protection and labour and employment policy implementation, supported by an action plan for Papua New Guinea.
