Promoting just transitions for an environmentally sustainable economy in Kyrgyzstan
The overall objective of this RBSA intervention in Kyrgyzstan is to enhance the environmental sustainability, productivity and competitiveness of enterprises through promoting the greening of MSMEs and their integration into the circular economy and global value chains. The RBSA intervention also promotes the integration of gender considerations into these just transition policies and business development practices. The target groups are the Employers’ organization, business support organizations and MSMEs in selected sectors, particularly women owned MSMEs, and the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan (FTUKG) and its selected sector trade unions cooperating with MSMEs. Among the key partners are the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, Employer and Business Membership Organizations (EBMOs) including the JIA Business Association, the FTUKG, business development service providers, and SCORE trainer networks in Kyrgyzstan. Expected results include: 1) MSMEs in selected sectors and regions adopt measures to improve productivity and environmental sustainability, which enable them to integrate into the circular economy and enhance access to global supply chains. 2) Knowledge and good practices on promoting a just transition for MSMEs through training on the SCORE4Climate module are available to key national stakeholders. 3) The capacity of Knowledge Intensive Business Services (KIBS) and SCORE trainers to independently promote and deliver training on the SCORE4Climate module is strengthened. 4) Institutionalized company-based management-worker councils for greening enterprises are established and promoted.
