Formalización y empoderamiento de trabajadoras domésticas, en el contexto de la economía del cuidado

This RBSA-funded intervention aims at strengthening the capacities of the constituents to formulate and implement public policies for the extension of social security coverage, the promotion and protection of labour rights and the improvement of working conditions for domestic workers. Through this intervention, the ILO supports the Ministry of Labour, the organizations of domestic workers and employers’ organizations to effectively promote compliance with labour regulations related to domestic work. This is achieved by strengthening the inspection, surveillance and control mechanisms of the State, and by making adjustments to the social protection system, with a view to formalizing employment in the domestic work sector. The expected results of the intervention include improved capacity of the national government to: i) identify the barriers that prevent the formalization of domestic work and define strategies that allow progressing the rate of formal work for domestic workers; and ii) adopt guidelines, instruments as well as normative and regulatory adjustments to promote formalization of domestic work and domestic workers’ access to social security and licenses to care services.
