Better Work Jordan Mental Health Project (2024-2025)

The project focus is on the implementation of mental health policies in the garment industry, which includes the hiring and training of counsellors and providing mental health training to workers. The project is also committed to addressing the issue of the Jordanian law criminalizing attempted suicide in public, which may discourage those in need from seeking help and worsen the high suicide rate. In addition, the activities in this new project involve the upgrading and improvement of an existing mental health clinic to better serve the needs of the community. The additional two years will involve a collaborative effort with stakeholders to ensure the integration of mental health considerations into various programs and systems within the garment industry.
