Better Work Vietnam Phase IV Gender (USDOL)
The project VNM/23/50/USA is the continuation of the project VNM/19/50/USA. The progress achieved so far together with the fact that the BWV enters its new strategic phase in 2023 create an excellent momentum for the project to expand and scale up its interventions to promote gender equality and empower women in Garment and footwear sector which can also benefit other export manufacturing sectors. While the focus of the project remains unchanged, the project also takes into consideration the increasingly complex and potential changing dynamic of Industrial Relations at the workplace, partly due to the changes in the Labour Law 2019, to ensure that women workers’ voices and concerns are well represented and addressed. The project receives USD 407,265 from USDOL for mid-2023 to 2025. The overall objective is to increase gender equality and industrial relations in BWV factories: Long-term Outcome 1 (LTO1): The enabling environment in the garment industry for women and men is strengthened to develop their skills and potentials in the workplace and in their daily life. Long-term Outcome (LTO2): BWV goals are achieved through implementing more comprehensive and cohesive efforts on gender strategy
