Better Work Haiti Phase IV (USDOL)
The project HTI/23/51/USA is the continuation of the project HTI/19/50/USA. This project receives USD 260,0000 from USDOL for mid-2023 to 2025. Better Work Haiti was established in June 2009 and has grown to include over 38 participating factories, impacting 55,000 workers, of which 65% are female. The programme covers all garment factories and some other manufacturing factories in Haiti exporting to the US market. For the new strategic phase (2023-2027), the overall objective of the Better Work Haiti project is to improve working conditions, especially for women workers, to strengthen the competitiveness of the Haitian garment sector. BWH has identified three Long Term Objectives to achieve this overall objective. 1. Compliance with national labour law and international labour standards is sustained in the Haitian garment sector. 2. The Haitian garment sector addresses labour-related issues in line with national labour law and international labour standards. 3. Government policies and institutions support the promotion of decent work.
