Promoviendo el diálogo para promover la aplicación de las recomendaciones de la comisión de encuesta en la Répública Bolivariana de Venezuela
This intervention aims at strengthening the capacity of Venezuela's constituents to ratify and implement international labour standards, comply with reporting obligations, and follow up on the recommendations of the ILO supervisory bodies. Through this intervention, the ILO provides technical assistance to effectively implement the plan of action agreed upon by the tripartite constituents on the occasion of the social dialogue fora held in 2022 and 2023 to implement the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry that was installed in 2019 specifically to monitor compliance in relation to Conventions 26, 87 and 144. The expected results of the intervention include: 1. Improved capacity of employers’ organizations (FEDECAMARAS y FEDEINDUSTRIA) to inform and direct discussions on public policies concerning minimum wages, development and employment, non-discrimination, and gender equality and to support the creation and growth of small enterprises. 2. Improved capacity of trade union organizations (ASI, CBST, CGT, CODESA, CTV, y UNETE) to contribute to and monitor compliance with workers' rights established in the Conventions ratified by the country, especially Convention Nos. 26, 87, 98, 122, 144 and 158. 3. Improved capacity of the national government to comply with the obligations under ratified Conventions in response to the comments of the ILO supervisory bodies. 4. An effective social dialogue mechanism is in place through which tripartite constituents can discuss the submission of the relevant reports to the ILO supervisory bodies.
