PROSHAR: Expanding Workers' Safety in Bangladesh
The Proshar project is a comprehensive and coordinated joint response by, ILO, the Government of Bangladesh and worker’s and employer’s organizations (with the support of USAID) to advance labour reforms and support decent work, with emphasis on promoting industrial relation by strengthening FoA as expressed in national development frameworks, including the 8th Five Year Plan (FYP), United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) 2020 to 2025 Bangladesh Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS), U.S. Government Integrated Country Strategy (ISC), GB Roadmap (2021-2026), EU National Action Plan (2021-2026), and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2022-2026 (UNSDCF) in support of LDC graduation and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (SDG) targets. The project ambition is to contribute to the following overall development objective: More Bangladeshi men and women workers have access to decent work through improved policies and laws, accountable, gender responsive and inclusive labor market institutions, and safer work environments Accordingly, this project supports the GoB, workers’, and employers’ organizations to advance decent work through two components: (i) Labour Law, Administration, and Industrial Relations/Social Dialogue (ii) Occupational Safety and Health
