Promotion of Social Justice and Decent Work through Local and Regional Governments (LRGs)

The project, ‘Promotion of Social Justice and Decent Work through Local and Regional Governments (LRGs) will enhance LRGs capacities to act as policy makers, implementers and promoters of Social Justice and Decent Work, building on their active role at the service of local communities. The project will assess the possibilities for participation through pilot activities and capacity building seminar. The project will conduct analytical research through survey and interviews to identify for each potential partner its possible contribution to the ILO Decent work agenda and to the promotion of social justice. Focus will also be placed on delimiting modalities of contributions and possible forms of partnership (MSP, decentralized cooperation, South-South). Building on this research, three capacity building seminars will be designed and implemented to support LRGs engagement in GSJC and other alliance using a knowledge and experience sharing approach.
