PROSPECTS Global – Improving Prospects for Host Communities and Forcibly Displaced Persons (Phase 2)

ROSPECTS is a partnership and a multi-year programme financed by the Government of the Netherlands and brings together the IFC, ILO, UNICEF, UNHCR and the World Bank to address crucial and emerging challenges of protracted displacement, in close coordination with the governments of the hosting countries. The partnership’s first phase started in January 2019 and ends in December 2024. Its second phase runs from January 2024 to December 2027. The Partnership focuses on four areas of intervention that enable forcibly displaced persons to overcome their specific vulnerabilities and host communities to pursue their own development efforts in transformed environments. These are: education and learning; employment; protection; and critical infrastructure. PROSPECTS’ power comes from its potential to complement and reinforce the work of each partner through effective leverage of the broad range of expertise, networks, influence, resources that the partners collectively bring to the partnership. The focus is on eight countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), East Africa, and the Horn of Africa regions: Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Kenya.
